Final Projects from Joanne for March - Altered Item and LO !

Hi there - Joanne here with my final projects for Cardz n Scrapz using the Cartographer Range by Prima!
Seeing as spring is in the air - I decided for my first project to 'alter' an empty bottle into a beautiful vase !

Of all the projects I have created for this site - this has to be the fastest and simplest - the way I think they should be - as I know how busy everyone is these days !  So simply clean out an empty bottle or use a jam jar or any used glass container.  Using a stripe of Cartographer Paper - I stuck it onto the bottle using double sided tape.  Next I added some of the prima embellishments and flowers I had left over from my previous project (the baggage case mini album) - and stuck them on using Glossy Accents.  Finally I wrapped a piece of twine around the neck and stuck on a Prima wooden butterfly element - and there you have it - all finished !!!

Closer look at the bottle and detail on it.

And of course because its March and that time of the year- I had to add a few daffodils from my garden into it!  Now it really feels like Spring !!!

I couldn't sign off without doing one last LO!  I got creative again with one of my favorite products this year - gelatoes ! I rubbed on 'snow cone' on the top of the page - sprayed it with water and watched it run.  Next I added some glimmer mists and it created all sorts of patterns for me on the page! Using a sheet of paper from the Cartographer range - and stamping the back of another page with the cartographer stamp - it formed the basis for my LO.  I added in a variety of embellishments - from paper clips to Heidi Swapp lettering, to tags and Tim Holtz washi tape !

As a mark of appreciation I made the above LO as a huge THANK YOU to Cardz n Scrapz for having me as one of their designers for the past few months.  I have loved the experience and the joy of taking on so many new challenges - it has definitely increased my creativity and my passion for scrapbooking - so thank you again.  May I also wish the new designers the same enjoyment I got from this whole experience and I can't wait to see your wonderful creations !

Thanks for looking

"Stationer's Desk" - two cards

Hi everyone!
Today I have for you two cards made with gorgeous Prima Stationer's Desk collection. This one is my favorite of all new Prima collections.
For the first card I used 6"x6" paper pad, dragonfly from Wood Embellishments (I inked it with White chalk ink), light grey mini roses, fantastic Ingvild Bolme Oval Frame. I inked all the edges with Prima chalk ink- Attic dust. The bottom edge of my card is cut with Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles die. I also used some tulle
Second card is made with the same paper pad. I also used kraft paper and kraft base from Papremania. I cut out lovely doily with Cheery Lynn French Doily Die, add some paper pieces, cord, Prima flowers in matching color and Prima crystals. Scissors are from Wood Embellishments (in natural colors)
Hope you like it :)

Baggage Mini Album ! Joanne's DT Project for March !

Hi there - Joanne here showing you how to make this 'Baggage Case' Mini Album !

For this month's project I was given the beautiful new 'Cartographer' Collection from Prima ! There is such versatility with these papers and embellishments - you are spoiled with the number of projects and LO's you can make with them.

To assemble the 'case' I cut a thick piece of chipboard (A4 size) into two pieces - 5" and  7" approx.

To attach them together I took a sheet of white card stock, cut it to match the size of my chipboard and scored it in the middle to make an accordion - this will hold my insert sheets when I am assembling it at the end. I covered the album with white card stock and papers from the Cartographer collection - stamping it here and there with the Cartographer Stamp!

To add more interest and dimension to my project  - I painted some bits of old chip board pieces I had lying around with Gesso and stamped it with a stamp from the Cartographer Collection. The effect is amazing and it is so simple to do !

Next using the different papers from the Cartographer Collection - I made several inserts pages for my album.  On each page I made pockets for extra photos and tabs to attach personal items. To secure them,  I attached them into the accordion section of the album.

To cover the front of the album I had tons of fun sticking loads of embellishments onto it - prima flowers, prima chipboard, brads, Tim Holtz Ideology, Resin frames etc
To finish it off, I attached a piece of Grunge Board, inked black and held in place with two brads to form the handle of the case.

Thank you so much for looking - hope you enjoyed it !

Happy Crafting !!!!
