'You are my fairy'- mixed media canvas by Sylwia
Hello Arty Souls!
Welcome in September:) Holidays are finished, kids are back at school, so do you have more time for crafting now? Well, for me there is no difference, my little daughter is keeping me very busy ;) However when she goes to bed, its Mummy Time!!!! I am tired but still have energy to create:)
This time I decided to go back to my favourite art- mixed media on canvas and my precious fairy girls:)
I used following materials:
Acrylics
Stamps
I started with gluing pieces of paper to the canvas. Than I layered some gesso with a stencil.I chose my favourite pieces of paper for the skirt. I outlined my girl and then I painted rest of the background in pink.

I love turquoise eyes:)
I added flowers to the quilt skirt. I love the combination of green and pink.
I made the wings out of the paper doilies.
I hope you enjoyed the project :)
Love,
Sylwia

'Smile more' scrapbooking layout by Marta
Hello there ;)
It's Marta here with my first August inspiration for you.
We have received some fun kit ths month. Orange colours and Halloween theme.
Paper used as my base is from Tim Holtz Idea Ology.
I cut our flowers from Graphic 45 Paper pad 8x8 An Eerie Tale.
You can see some sewing, great way to build up your backround on the page.
The butterflies are embossed with Lindy's embossing powder.
I added string from my stash, it's my recent favourite embellishment.
Small dots are made with liquid pearls.
Cute music note is from Prima lyric shaped paper metal clips.
Yellow modeling paste was mixed with Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals. These are wonderful powders that could be mix with water, paste etc.
I hope you have enjoyed my work. If you would like to know how to create mixed media page like that here is link to my previous work with video tutorial.
Sending you hugs,
Marta x

Art Journal Fun Day
Hello lovelies!
Hope you are well and surviving the heat today.....I think my art supplies have even started to melt!
This is my second project for July. I wanted to create an entry for my Finnibair Art Journal by Prima. It has been neglected for months. So I welcomed the chance to play with it :)
I started with a double spread by using old book pages, matt gel medium and a watered down coat of white gesso. I then added some blue coloured paint to top of one page and bottom of other. The alternative had some Prima papers added, also by Prima, from Finnibair.
I added loads of random strips of washi tapes in different blue tones, splashes of blue spray, Lindys Stamp Gang in Bayou Boogie Gold, and the yellow is by Winsor & Newton. I die cut some stars and used a prima tag to create a mat for my instax photo. I painted the wooden prima lady with the above Lindys Spray and Silks. The blue colour was done by painting with Tattered Florals Glimmer Mist in Splash.
I finished by adding embellishments, enamel dots, more paint splashes, painted Prima chipboard, flowers and Heidi Swapp words.
Hope this helps inspire you and thank you for visiting. See you all soon with my August creations.

Hello friends,
It's already July and holiday time ! For many of us it's time to relax and create :)
Today I would love to share with you my love for mixed media.
In visual art mixed media refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been used. I have mix few mediums today: gesso, gel medium, silks 6pk Autumn, inks and sprays.
The base is made with a tag from Prima.
The girl is a Prima wood doll for mixed media. Flowers and leaves are also from Prima laser cut embellishments. All of above was painted with silks.

I hope you have enjoyed my mixed media creation. I know that for many crafters mixed media is still new and scary to try. Trust me once you will get some paint on your hands, make few splashes you will fall in love with this technique just like me :)
Sending you creative hugs,

Mixed media art journal page by Marta
Hello my friends,
I hope you are good and in the creative mood today.
I would love to share with you my art journal page.
I love creating in my journals.
It's a nice way to experiment and discover new techniques.
I started my journals to try out new art materials and to create with no restrictions.
Todays work is no different. I just went with the flow and experiment.
Here is my page.
I have created this work using Bo Bunny Paper Pad and Kaisercraft Texture Clear Stamp.
Those stamps are perfect for journaling or cardmaking.
I also used Prima Stencil Stain. Flowers are from my stash :)
I used some sprays Lindy's Stamp Gang and pencil.
Here is few more close up photos.
As you can see the papers have some dotty design.
I decided to cut out some random shapes - strips and circles.

Smile Love Happy Suitcase
Hello lovelies
Happy June :) Here is my first project for this month. I received a beautiful kit this month and it contained suitcases!!! I has a play with paint, ink, papers, drawing, pencils, stamping....everything I could think off.
I started my case by using a stencil and some texture paste. I then added random torn and cut strips of paper from the paper collection Plus One from Amy Tangerine. This paper pack has such vibrant happy colours, it is what inspired all of this project, from the words, scene, colours of paint and girl drawing.
I drew my girl out on watercolour paper and coloured her with loads of different mediums of water based products. Her dress was create with the orange paper from the collection. I used acyrlic paint to create my background. There is also some random strips of washi tape added.
I sprayed the white flower trim from our kit with pink spray. All of the prima flowers used received the paint treatment too. All elements of this was adhered with matt gel medium.
I hope this little case gives you some inspiration. See you in a week or two with my next project using these goodies :)

Little Joyful Message- altered canvas by Sylwia
Hi Art Souls:)
This is bonus project for May:)
I choose word 'JOY' as my favourite and guiding word for 2014 and I decided to alter this 6x6 canvas with JOY and other embellishments:)
Art Supplies used in the project:
Acrylic Paint
Vintage Music Sheet
Twine
Cheese Cloth
Moss
Flowers by Prima
Buttons
Paper Doily
Firstly, I teared papers by Tim Holtz and vintage music sheet into smaller pieces and I glued them to the canvas as a background. I added some definition with Inktense pencils and acrylic paint. Next I added paper doily and chipboard background lattice. I also found a piece of cheese cloth and distressed it with chalk fluid edger pad. I placed my word in a Memory frame and glued flowers, buttons and moss around it.

My Vintage Angel- mixed media painting by Sylwia
Hello Arty Souls!
This is my second project for May. I decided to incorporate this divine vintage kit into my mixed media painting. I love creating whimsical girls, fairies and angels so there it is My Vintage Angel:)
Art Supplies used in the project:
Acrylic Paint
Texture Paste
Texture Paste
I started off by tearing pieces of paper by Tim Holtz and gluing them to the background. Than I outlined my angel and painedt the background using old credit card. It is more scratching than painting but trust me I didn't use any brush in this painting. I 'painted' it only with plastic card. That is why the texture looks uneven and grungy.
The same technique I used to paint the face and hair...
I decided not to cover whole background with paint. I love this butterfly/moth:)
I also sprayed the pieces of chipboard background lattice with glimmer mist and glued it to the background. It is hard to see it on the photo, but this mist gives beautiful gold shimmer effect:) Love It!
And I used Memory Frame to make a necklace for my angel. I cut the inside of the frame and a heart out of piece of cardboard, which goes with a vintage theme:)
As for wings I decided to use texture paste and stencils:) And also I decided not to cover the dress with paint completely, as I wanted beautiful papers to show through.
I hope you enjoyed this project:)

My third card has some mixed media touches. On the backround I used Tim Holtz stencil and structure paste. I splased the backround with Tattered Angles Mists. On the side I attached great wooden chipboard. Fish net was coloured in black with some ink.
